DreamTeam provides security infrastructure in several ways. First, our sites are hosted on web servers that sit behind industrial grade firewalls. These firewalls only allow certain kinds of traffic to pass through. In addition to checking which network ports are accessed, the firewalls also look at the traffic content itself to ensure that say, a request for HTTP data really contains the HTTP protocol.
Another security system we employ is 128-bit SSL encryption. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer, and is the strongest encryption in widespread use on the Internet. SSL enables us to ensure that no hacker can tamper with the data that's being sent from a browser to our web server or vice versa. In other words, it allows both ends of a communication to know that the other received the message that was sent without the possibility of it being tampered with while enroute.
While firewalls help prevent a hacker from breaking into our web servers and SSL helps prevent a hacker from "listening in" on conversations to and from our web servers, authorization helps us to verify the identity of users on the opposite end of Internet connection.
